IMPORTANT UPDATE: OUR GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE NOW STARTS AT 7:30PM

HELPING HANDS

ASSISTING OUR NEIGHBORS WITH HANDYMAN/WOMAN SERVICES, CHORES AND ERRANDS

THE NEED

In our church and community there are people who are unable to do simple routine “handyman” repairs on their own. Many live on fixed incomes and are unable to pay the high costs of house calls for simple repairs or some may require short term help running basic errands or helping with chores around the house.

THE CALLING

“Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” Psalm 71:9

“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear, children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” – I John 3:17-18

SERVICES

Types of services provided will be determined by the skills of those who are on the team but basically small handyman projects. Examples : light bulb replacement, drywall repairs, painting, yard work, screen replacement, picking up medicine or groceries.

PRIMARY FOCUS

Our initial focus will be on members and regular attenders of the church but if we have the resources and volunteers it could be expanded to our local Gulf Gate community as Christ’s witnesses.

APPROVAL

All projects and services must be approved by a Team Leader.

VOLUNTEERS

Anyone who is willing to help and wants to participate can volunteer. We encourage those with skills but we will also need general labors for cleanup projects and people to help with chores and running errands.
